Norbert Artner

In October, Norbert Artner spent three weeks in the Berlin district of Lichtenberg. Over the course of his extended explorations of the area, he made numerous photos of deserted, bleak spaces – generally using long exposure. However, these images do not feature representative locations that are placed at the centre of the observer’s attention; instead, the focus is on the everyday, which develops its own particular aura based on the atmosphere of the time of day and on the perspective chosen. Some of the photos were made available in the form of postcards and can thus find their way back to the places they were taken.
