Department of fine art HBKsaar

Workshop by Elisabeth Sonneck with students from the HBKsaar university of art and design in Saarbrücken (class of Katharina Hinsberg) at Lichtenberg Studios
“The borderless image – Questions for its periphery”
In contrast with a canvas or an indoor room, for example, public space does not specify any boundary contours for a given work. First off, we inspect the existing situation and then develop conceptual aspects for focal points in the space that the work can play off. With this as our starting point, we develop practical strategies to react to what has been seen, researched and found at the site and to the resulting question and feelings – using simple means and with interventions that do not require permission.
